What We Believe

1. ONE GOD: true and living, perfect in holiness, measureless in power, infinite, eternal and unchangeable; that He is mercifully interested in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; that He saves from sin and death such as come to Him through Jesus Christ; that He subsists in a mysterious and eternal Trinity--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:7; Ephesians 4:4-6; Psalm  147:5; Isaiah 42:8.

2. ONE SAVIOR : Jesus Christ, God's eternal Son, with precisely the same nature, attributes and perfection as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We also believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal visible, premillenial return from heaven. Matthew 1:18-25; 24:27-31; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; John 1:1-14, 3:16; 14:9; Acts 1:11; 3:22-25; Hebrews 9:24; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Corinthians 15:12-28; Matthew 24:27-31; Revelation 20:1-

3. ONE SPIRIT : God, the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and implement Christ's work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for Godly living and service, who was sent into the world by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. John 16:5111; 2 Corinthians 3:18.

4. ONE WORD : the Scriptures comprised of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, each entirely inspired and inerrant in their original autographs, having been given by God and written by men divinely inspired, and are our supreme authority and only infallible rule of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Proverbs 30:5,6.

5.
ONE ATONEMENT FOR SIN : Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ based upon the sovereign grace of God, and purchased by Christ on the cross, sufficient for all, and received by man through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. Salvation results in righteous living, good works, and proper social concern. Hebrews 2:9; Romans 5:10- 19; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Mark  10:45; Ephesians 2:8-10.

6. ONE LIFE : The life hidden with Christ in God--the life eternal; begun when a sinner believes and receives Him, and continues eternally secure thereafter by the effectual and sovereign grace of God. Philippians 1:6; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; John 1:12, 10:27-29; Romans 10:9-13.

7. ONE CHURCH: The spiritual body of Christ of which Christ is the head, the true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been immersed upon a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for instruction, for evangelism, and for service. We also believe in the interdependence of local churches and the mutual submission of believers to each other in love. Ephesians 4:4-13; 1 Corinthians 12:12,13; Ephesians 5:21; John 15:12-14; Ephesians 5:23.

8. ONE COMMISSION : The great evangelistic and missionary commission given by Jesus Christ to the disciples and the continuing church, commanding the making of disciples, which merits our most earnest prayers, interest, and support. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15; Philippians 4:15-19.

9. ONE CONDEMNATION : for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God because all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and the carnal mind is enmity against God. John 3:18-19, 36; Romans 3:1-23; 6:23; Ezekiel 18:4.
TWO DESTINIES: Heaven and Hell, one of which every individual will of necessity choose, and which choice death forever seals. Heaven is a place of eternal life or bliss, and Hell is a place of eternal death or loss. 2 Corinthians. 5:8-10; John 14:1-4; Revelation. 20: 21,22.

10. ONE SATAN : Both tempter and accuser who exists in personality and reality. Job 1:6-8, 2:1-6; Matthew 4:1-11; John 8:44; Ephesians. 6:11-12; Revelation 12:9.

11. TWO ORDINANCES : Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

BAPTISM is the immersion in water of a believer in Christ "in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit", symbolizing the fact of accomplished regeneration and portraying us as having been linked spiritually with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, with the effect of our death to sin, and resurrection to a new life. It is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership.

THE LORD'S SUPPER is a commemoration of His broken body and shed blood for the remission of sin and symbolizes the fact that the believer has faith in and acknowledges Christ's vicarious death for him, and identifies himself with the death of Jesus Christ. This ordinance should be partaken only by those whose faith is in Christ and can partake in remembrance and thankfulness for what He has done for them and accomplished in them, and should be preceded by a renewed self examination and committal to Him. This ordinance is to be continued until He comes. Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.

In essential beliefs ... we have unity.

There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all... Ephesians 4:4-6

In non essential beliefs ... we have liberty.

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Romans 14:1,4,12,22

In all our beliefs ... we show charity.

...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains, but have no love, I amount to nothing at all. 1 Corinthians 13:2
