MOPs - Mothers of Preschoolers
The Eastern Sierra MOPs, which was created to build relationships between mothers throughout the Owens Valley, meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May. Moms who attend will enjoy an uninterrupted meal and socializing with other moms with like interests and challenges. The meetings take place in the Family Center of Calvary Baptist Church from 9:00 to 11:30AM. Check them out on Facebook, Mops Bishop. The next regular gathering of MOPs is on Valentine's Day, February 14th.
Newcomers Luncheon
The next luncheon for newcomers is schedulde for Sunday June 24th, 2012. The luncheon will be served for all those new to CBC and interested in meeting some of the CBC leaders and learning more about CBC Ministries. It will be held in the CBC Fellowship Hall immediately following morning worship on that Sunday. In June there will be an RSVP sheet at the Getting Connected Table on Sundays, or contact the church office.
Ways to connect at CBC
Some ways to connect:
- Check out one of the open small study groups.
- Attend one of the prayer meetings.
- Join the Young At Heart for First Friday Breakfast.
- Bring a "Potluck Dish" to a Midlife Misfits Friday night potluck.
- Drop in to craft with the Crafty Co-Hearts.
- AWANA can always use listeners, and other helpers. Also Children's Church, and the Nursery like to know that extra help is available.
- Help out at any Work Day at CBC.
- Offer your particular gift or ability at the Getting Connected Table.
- Keep an eye on the Calendar for information about any of the events of interest.
You are invited to join any CBC Family activities
Please join the CBC Family on Sundays at 9:30AM in the CBC Chapel for Adult Bible Fellowship and/or at 10:40AM for Worship Celebration in the CBC Family Center. Children are included in the music portion of Worship Celebration and are excused to Children's Church following their "special song". There is currently no child care during the 9:30 hour.
AWANA
AWANA is a nondenominational ministry intended to teach kids about Christ and where they are encouraged to learn Bible verses through enjoyable activities.
It is a place where the young people age three years thru sixth grade are encouraged to learn Bible verses through Handbook time, Game time, and Council or teaching time. AWANA meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church Family Center/Gym, 1100 West Line Street, Bishop.
The AWANA club program continues, following the school calendar, through May 2nd.

PRISM
PRISM is a weight loss program built on Biblical Principles that addresses the whole person - body, mind, and spirit.
PRISM provides each participant with a framework in which to resolve their desire to change their current overweight condition. This includes guidelines and education about healthy food choices and thinking patterns all leading to a right weight for the “true you”.

Bible Study/Small Group
A Bible Study Small Group is taking place on Sunday evenings at 6:30PM in the CBC Student Center. The Study focuses on the Book of Galatians and includes a time of worship to begin the evening. Child care is being provided. Everyone is invited. The study is taught by Galen Norsworthy.
