Lead Pastor
Lead Pastor
Rick Klug began his ministry as Lead Pastor at CBC on November 1, 2005. He came
to CBC with a full background of interdenominational experiences.
He has been in ministry in Presbyterian, Nazarene, Evangelical
Covenant, Baptist, and non-denominational churches as well as
in multi-denominational summer camps and seminary. Before coming
to CBC Rick was a Pastor/Teacher at Grace Christian Fellowship
of Potter Valley, CA, which was a new non-denominational church
plant. Before that he was Pastor to Youth and Families for ten
years at First Presbyterian Church, Ukiah, CA, (from 02/95 through
04/05). Other ministry positions include being a Cell Shepherd
for young adults at Harvest Community Church in Glendora, CA,
work with Young Life in San Dimas, CA, Program Director at Lone
Tree Bible Ranch summer camp in Wyoming, Junior High Ministries
intern at Pasadena Nazarene Church, Director of Youth Ministries
at Arcata Nazarene Church in Arcata, CA, and summer camp counselor
at Mount Hermon’s Redwood Camp.
Beyond that Pastor Rick has spent a number of years counseling children, youth, and their families, including years at psychiatric treatment homes for boys. He also has coached youth and high school sports for many years including 15 years of football. His passion is to see people met by the love and grace of God, and to help them find forgiveness and wholeness through Jesus Christ. He desires to bring the Gospel to all people in ways they can understand and by which they can be challenged, and to equip and motivate God’s
people in their ministries (Ephesians 4:11-13). Pastor Rick received his B.S.
in Business Administration at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA (1990),
and his Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA (1994).
