Missionaries for September - Ben and Maggie Chan, Missions Door. Ben and Maggie serve the Lord among the Chinese in Southern California and China. After successfully planting two Chinese churches, Ben was appointed to be Missions Door's Chinese Ministry Specialist.
Through their ministry, over 2000 people have heard the Gospel, and over 100 people have believed in God and gotten baptized in Southern California. During this time they have taken mission trips to China to minister through preaching, visitation, discipleship, social concerns and training. The training is provided to church leaders, pastors and lay leaders.
To be more effective in the ministry, Ben and Maggie are working hard to build a Chinese ministry team, by both planting churches in the United States and wide-range ministry in China.

Worship/Outreach Pastor
Pastor
Rusty McKinley joined the staff of CBC in January 2001. Rusty’s role is primarily focused on leading and facilitating the worship music and tone of the Sunday morning worship including all the preparation that is involved. Rusty is committed to the CBC Core Values, which include “living lives of worship and praise”. A secondary but not lesser aspect of his job is orchestrating and/or participating in outreach opportunities; including but not limited to Pizza Tuesdays at Jill Kinmont Boothe School, Sober Grad Night for graduating High School Seniors, Fifth Quarter – activities
for students following home football games, planned special events designed to
reach the un-churched.
Rusty came to CBC with a long and extensive background of worship leading experience,
formerly done on a volunteer basis. His outreach experience was enhanced by a
period of time spent serving with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Rusty has always
had a passion to reach the lost in any way possible: looking at creative ways
to minister to the community, building relationships in the community, becoming
involved with people in places where church people are not usually found, organizing
concert events, etc. He has participated in every type of outreach event that
has come his way or that he could orchestrate; from street evangelism to concerts
and whatever fell in-between.
Rusty has a special place in his heart for un-churched young people, but would
choose that all age groups come to know and follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
