4/17/19 Updates

Greetings CBC Family,

We hope you are staying well and staying safe these days, and that your Easter celebration was encouraging and hope-filled.  Remember what Peter wrote in 1 Peter 1:3 In His (God’s) great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead!

We want to let you know about an opportunity we have to help those who have lost so much in Vanuatu.  Some of you know of the Category 5 Cyclone Harold that hit a few of the islands just over a week ago.  We have missionaries and other contacts in the area, and we know of relief efforts already in the works.  Our leadership has already pledged money to support this and want to give you the opportunity to join us.  You can give through our website (cbcbishop.org), or can send a check to us (PO Box 636, Bishop, CA 93515) or directly to them (Training Beyond Borders, P.O. Box 627, Winfield, IL 60190). But above all, please PRAY - for the ni-Vanuatu people, their protection and healing, and that they will not be angry with God but trust Him and respond to His grace.

We also want to remind you that The Salvation Army could still use some more help preparing and handing out sack meals starting at 11am Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Contact them at 760-872-2124.

Finally, we have Zoom video prayer meetings every Wednesday at 5pm if you would like to join us.  Respond to this email, or reach out to me (pastorrick@cbcbishop.org) or Mary Matlick for more information.  Prayer is powerful and effective!

God is still in our midst, and working in and through us.  Keep your eyes on Him!
