Hello again CBC Family,
Oh how we wish we could be all together physically right now, but we do believe that is coming soon! We also believe that we are now able to gather in smaller groups (safely and with social distancing, even at the church), and so we encourage you to be the church and start doing that as you are comfortable. Join in Bible studies, prayer groups, support groups, and even getting together to join us in worship online. True discipleship and caring for each other actually best happens in those smaller group settings.
We do have some news that is both sad and a celebration from an eternal perspective. Our dear brother and leader at CBC George Batchelder went home to be with Jesus last Sunday evening. He was surrounded by his family who had just finished praying with and for him, and he left in an amazing and peaceful way. We thank God for this, and our love and prayers continue for Susan and the rest of the family.
On another note, this Sunday (5/10) is Mother’s Day! We can’t celebrate it in the same way as we have together in worship, but we still would like to honor our mother’s and mother-figures. If you have someone you would like to honor come down to our church property between 12 and 1pm on Sunday to pick up a small gift - and bring her if you are able! Mothers and mother figures, you are welcome to just come also. We would love to wave and offer our love and appreciation. A few of our leadership will be there to do that.
Remember that God is working in the midst of all that is going on. Trust Him, be the church to and for each other, and don’t be afraid to ask for help from your church family - we are here for each other. We love you and are praying for you!
