Dear CBC Family,
These are interesting times we live in! Many in our nation are fearful, and angry. The Coronavirus and shutdown has taken its toll. The injustices in our nation have sparked outrage and even more division. But God is a God of justice, mercy, and love. And we can rest in Him!
As Jesus’ people, the churches in Bishop are responding. We must continue to be the church: caring for and supporting each other, preaching truth and grace, and also engaging in spiritual warfare. We are gathering this Sunday, June 7, at 4pm, at the city park between the pool and skate park for a Community Prayer Vigil. Please join us as we pray for reconciliation, justice, and peace - and for God to move on our land and in our hearts.
There are a few things we want to remind you of. First we are still streaming our service on Facebook and YouTube, and plan to continue doing that. We do have limited space in our worship center, and if more people come than can fit with safe social distancing we will be asking people to participate in one of our overflow rooms. We are also planning to celebrate Communion this Sunday. If you want to participate from home we encourage you to have your elements ready.
We also want to remind you about the Thrive Summit — the free, all online, conference happening June 15-16. We’ve been participating in the Thrive Conference in Roseville for years, and this year it has moved online. Some of us hope to watch together at church, but others can watch at home. Check it out at thriveconference.org. We hope you participate, so register and please let us know you registered!
Father’s Day is also coming up - and we are planning to have a little tri-tip BBQ to celebrate our dad’s! It will be Sunday, June 21 after our service. Dad’s and any they want to bring are welcome, but we need you to sign up at the church office by June 15 so we have enough food.
God is moving in our midst, and we need to keep our eyes on Him. Please reach out to us for any more information or any questions you have. Together we really can make a difference!
